Day 111: Paris, France

Today was a really fun day with Laura and Jenny.  We planned to leave around 10h, which of course did not happen, but we did leave by like 11h 30, so that's pretty good.  We took the train, and went to see the Moulin Rouge, because they wanted to.  It wasn't anything amazing, but it was cool to see it.

Yup.  Red windmill.
Nearby, there was a gift shop, so we all bought a few last minute gifts for people.  After we finished, we took that metro to the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, which was only two stops away.  It is a Roman Catholic basilica, built on Montmartre, the highest point in the city.  It is a building I studied at some point, so it was cool to see.  When we got there, we ate lunch in a restaurant near by.  The food was not that good, but the server was a real dick.  He seemed to have a problem with our accents.  When he finally bothered to bring us our check, we paid about half of our bill with the smallest coins we could.  Sucka.

Lol.  Not quite.

View of the Sacred Heart from our lunch table.
We hiked up the hill to the Basilica, and got a really great view.  The inside was absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately, photography was not allowed. There was also another Christmas market, on the street around the basilica.  It was a very nice area.

It's not the most beautiful view, but I really like the look of the city.
Neat.
This guy was selling bread and sausage.
We then explored the surrounding area, and it turned out it was really cool.  Lot's of narrow streets, and we found a squared full of artists and painters working and selling their works.

The whole affair was very French.
After this, we headed back to the hostel for a little while.  Jenny needed to leave at 7:45, so we wanted to relax before then.  Laura and I took the train with Jenny to her station, and it was really, really sad.  I definitely did not want Jenny to leave.  After she was gone, Laura and I took the train to the Eiffel Tower to get crepes from they guy.  It was really cold, and rainy, and windy, but the crepes were really, really good.  In the morning, Laura leaves, which I am not happy about, but it was a fun last day with my friends.

I wont get tired of seeing this.
