Day 105: Pau, France

Today was a better day today.  Unfortunately, it is still raining almost constantly, so it is pretty much killing everybody's desire to do anything.  I slept in pretty late, mostly because it was raining and dark in my room.  I woke up at around 11h and ate some breakfast and helped clean up the kitchen.  I practiced for a while, and it went really well.  M. Pere d'accueil told me I sound a lot better now than I did before.  That made me really, really happy.

At around 4:30 I went to Matt's room and hung out with him and Laura and Breanna.  I spent a couple of hours there.  We went to Carrefour to buy more wine, and I bought a baguette that was still steaming hot, and it was fantastic.  I will miss that a lot.

Mid-afternoon in Pau.  It has looked like this since Friday evening, and looks like it will look like this until we leave on Tuesday morning.
After a while, I went home and changed, and went out to eat.  Nobody wanted to go with me, because they didn't want to spend money, so I went alone.  This was ok.  I had a really good dinner, and it was a very relaxing evening.  I went to La Tour du Parlement, which is the Italian restaurant I love.  I got the lasagna with gorgonzola cream sauce again.  I have been craving it for weeks, and it was fantastic.  I also got lemon sorbet and a cafe.  It was a great dinner.  And all for like 15€.

I love this street.
After dinner, I walked around Pau and took some pictures of the holiday lights around the city.  It is very pretty.  It was not to rainy for a while, and it was chilly, but not too cold.  It was nice to walk around Pau for what is probably the last time.

They have a little Santa's Village thing set up.  No mention of the lord savior Jesus Christ anywhere.

They have put lights on just about everything.

Here is the ice rink the built in town.  It is pretty cool, because it is, in fact, not ice, but a surface of white, teflon squares.

Every street in the centre ville has some kind of lights over it.  They did the same kind of thing in Tarbes.

The shopping area in the main town square.

They have this really cool light canopy over the town square.

Purdy.

Main street out of the other end of the plaza.

After I walked around for a while, it started raining.  I checked the usual places for my friends, but I couldn't find them.  By the time I got back to the dorm building where I also didn't find them, I was completely soaked from the waist down, so I just went home.  I debated changing and going back out. However, this ceased to be a possibility the moment I stepped inside.  I did find this fun street signal as I was walking home.  I'm telling you, the French will do anything to give you as little information as possible.

I just wanted to know if it was safe to cross the rue.
