Day 46: Pau, France

Today, it was dreary.  I kinda liked it, actually.  I woke up, and I started doing some free buzzing in bed, and then some mouthpiece buzzing.  My face felt as bad as it looks, and it took me like 30 minutes before I could start playing.  I ended up getting a really good hour in, doing some long tones and lip slurs.

Class was ok today, but it was a little slow.  We had to do a survey for the Ofice of International Education that took a while, and we had questions on our homework, so it was like an hour before we learned anything at all.

The first thing I learned today is that this type of candy bar is not good.

After class, I went home again to practice.  I did about 1:15.  It was pretty good.  I did some scales and then looked at some parts from the opera.  This evening, I had a rehearsal for the opera.  It went really, really well, and I am very happy with how I played. I felt really strong--a huge a improvement over the last rehearsal.  Hopefully I can keep improving.

This is the poster for our performance.
Apparently, France is in the Rugby World Cup Finals.  You'd never know it if it weren't for the internet.  I have noticed that I see a lot more All Blacks merchandise than I see for Les Bleus.  Apparently it is a big deal to some people.
