Day 71: Pau, France

Today was really great.  Historically, in France, on Sundays, I like to do absolutely nothing.  Today was no different.  I woke up at around 9h and forced myself to stay in bed until 10h 27, when my alarm went off.  I then kinda poked around around a little bit.  I looked at some stuff on the internet.  Then I got hungry so I ate some cheese and some yogurt.  I also put a load of laundry that I put in the wash last night out to dry.  Then I came to my room and watched YouTube videos.

I also played trumpet a little bit.  I am having what I would call "major problems" with some of my fundamentals, so in my efforts to "do it right", I am pretty limited in what I can play right now. Basically I am just mouthpiece buzzing and playing concert F and Bb.

I have also been dealing with pretty severe knee pain for almost a month.  Today, I started my new physical therapy regiment called "running".  Basically, I am just going to keep doing that until my knees don't hurt.

In the evening, my family came home and we had dinner.  It was some kind of squash soup.  It was good.  Then we had the usual cheese and wine and then Gateau Basque.  This is the greatest kind of gateau in the world.  OMG IT IS AMAZING.  IF THERE WERE ANY WAY POSSIBLE TO BRING SOME HOME, I WOULD. Here is the website of the bakery that made the specific Gateau Basque that I ate tonight. http://www.aufournildelalicorne.com/gateaux-basques
This was definitely the best GB I have ever had.

Because I didn't technically DO anything today, I took no photos, but here is some of the music I was listening to on YouTube.

This girl is married to President Sarkozy.  He recently got her pregnant and the had a child.  Something that would caused a huge uproar in the United States has gone almost unnoticed.  The French are much more concerned with how he runs the country than his personal affairs.

I think this is older.  Because it is a music video, and it is on MTV.

This one's for you old folks:

I already knew MC Solaar, but you can hear some cool jazz influences here:

Anyway. l8r.

  1. Inspired by your Gateau Basque, I decided to have one of Natalie's Zebra Cakes for breakfast. (Sorry, Natalie. I'll replace it.) This was definitely the best ZC I have ever had. (Although admittedly, at the same time, it was also the worst.)
